Come in Researchers
Finally word has come through(encrypted) from the Joint Chiefs of Staff calling our unit for active duty on Coastal Continental Cafe Patrol, this sunday the 24th of june. Our mission is to start at the seaside resort of cleveland, around 11am, and then track around the coast, feeding our faces along the way, to the luxury playground of manly. Most of the patrol is right along the shore, with some adjustments for mangrove swamps here and there. At cleveland, we can start at the cafe/bakery there, which does a range of fried filth, coffee, cakes and pastries. OK see you there with wheels

NZ PM visits student to check that he's doing some work

Ms. Clark came to visit me this week, saying:
I've heard reports that Jonathan is doing some work, but I don't believe it so I'm going to see for myself.

Okay, actually I didn't see her, but she came to the building I work in, and I saw her security guard in the car park. I'm feeling stalked. Why is New Zealand funding Australian chairs?

Old & New

On a journey to one of the more historical countries on earth, my Dad is simultaneously taking a journey to the present by starting a blog.

I'm very proud of him (although if someone could help him get hold of a razor to loose his convict look that'd be great!).

The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics
You and Your Research

The first I think I can pretty much agree with in its entirety. It seems in the second he discounts much of the usefulness of incremental gains or the amount of engineering needed to bring a problem to a technologically useful end. Then again, I don't have a window named after me.
